Uni-President Lions Wins 2013 Taiwan Series

TAIWAN – Chang Tai-shan and Kao Kuo-ching collected three hits apiece and the Uni-President Lions erupted for sevenUNI-PRESIDENT LIONS runs in extra-innings to capture the 2013 Taiwan Series with a 9-2 victory Wednesday night over the EDA Rhinos in front of nearly 17,000 fans at Chengching Lake Baseball Field in southern Taiwan.

The Lions, which won the second half title after finishing in last-place during the first round, completed a sweep of the best-of-seven Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) championship series.

The most decorated club in CPBL history, the Tainan City-based franchise claimed an unprecedented nine league title (1991, 1995-96, 2000, 2007-09, 2011 and 2013).
